Portraying relationships;

I use my subject as a reference for what to put in the canvas
As a figure painter primary working for life, it remains important for me to draw inspiration from a living figure, so relationship are a common theme in my work.- the relationship of light, color and figure continue to captivate my senses, when this elements come together in a live scene, you can even tought a story in your mind , that story inspires to add to the painting elements such as mood, energy and environment.
Main tips to do so are; Model; (starting composition, and refinement)
Choose emotions (by adding tone adding lights and darks)
Base color (I allow room to change up until final stages)
Find Balance (color harmony; shift focus accordingly)
It is important to be able to adapt as the painting takes form
Final refinement for a good figurative work

Color and light are not separate topics, but rather closely related;

As I have learned more, I´ve come more aware of how they are intimately intertwined, painting wáter,sunsets etc involves such interaction
Viewers see the subject but feel the color and light, in a given form, the illumination transform the subject.- try to créate rather the mood of such scheme the effects of the atmosphere and illumination as something unconscious,.
You need to have a light plan and sitck to it
know your color Wheel, if you shift mixtures in different ways know where your pigments fit.
Know your "gamut" the gamut is the full range of colors that can be mixed by a given set of primary colors,.- is the región of the color Wheel that represents that range, wheter you prefer premixing, free mixing or limited palettes be sure of the boundaries of your gamut.- planning a color scheme is like paching for a long trio in a small suitcase, think hard what to include and what to leave behind
Compare.- within a scene colors and values are know by their relationship rather tan by absolute value in other words as you paint you most constantly make comparisons from one área to another

Well I did the following paint inspired in a brother picture fishing, the limited palette was made just with grey payne, White, ochre, ultramarine blue and Brown dark shadow.- but mostly grey payne and light "White" relationship

More about experimentation;

I draw just a few lines to indicate the subjects, I painted at glance also with few colors, Then I´m taking a picture to see the differences before and after, therefore the following picture is "before"ref PO657;-1 after will be aplying a glaze made with colored barniz, leaving some spots with few layers and most of the background with more additional layers to uniform in some way the "after" picture
the second picture "after"ref PO657-2;will be post later (after be completed)

Texture and form
Composition is the arrangement of elements on the surface, however I need to consider, balance, rhythm and the Golden rule of thirds to mention some.---
But "unity" which is creating an appearance of being a total unit with all the elements providing a relationship to the whole an example of this theory is to use a certain color repeating same color darker or lighter on the other elements on your painting, this is used for background to lead your eye around the surface creating unity and making it appear whole, the subject in this case will be contrasted to be the focus of attention
After I did this arrangement, I experiment with different media to attain something different and creative, applying barniz and again color with a brush to obtain the droplets needed.-

Introducing Play in the art, to stimulate creativity;

The palette knife within acrylic application, forces to simplify shapes and values and focus less on details that matter the least.
I´m trying and exploring new ways to use and expand acrylic and impasto toguether than in this ocassion .-I started with impasto previously colored, then I applied with knife above canvas on board, and detailing with additional acrylic color to finish
