Freedom of endless experimentation
Every time I have a new idea, or new inspiration, I learn a new technique
Sometimes watching paintings from another artists, the idea came trying to mimic the way that probably they did or work on that,
This time I did two paintings with different methodology, the first; ref CO668 was created with colored impasto wash, applied with a palette, and then detailed with acrylic brush paint, the second one, ref CO669 was made applying first acrylic paint with brush, as 1st wash as the underpainting.- and then I apply just the white color with oil, so basically this is a mixing media because I´ve got issues with acrylic white paint which fades and practically dissapear as it dry, and the impact is not the same as the oil pure titanium White;  I get from oil.-
I have always had the curiosity to explore, searching , experimenting and working with different médiums, I think the only way forward is to be able to cross the line, break the boundaries to grow as much as posible with what you know or have around,
The most important part of the process is interpreting the beauty of the subject.

A second look;
I like the paintings that cause you to pause, sometimes there are paintings that you don´t understand or painting in a way that you don´t catch at first glance, where you need to take time to get shapes and values right, where the imagination start to work due the referred painting to conform an undertanding
and if posible an emotion came through
Think of this; there is quite a difference between a person whose been riding a motorcycle for a short time  and a rider who has been in the bike for many years, either way, there is pure pleasure, never forget, beginner or a lifetime art is a joyous existence, This painting was made to show physical movement regarding visual reaction to get a response that takes time to be restructured that´s way  I said second look
Someday practicing and practicing the idea is to approach emotion feelings (within the second look) trying to catch those fine tunes towards the painting end

Painting glass;
When painting glass you are mostly painting what is behind the glass, with lighter reflections and darker accents suggesting the glass presence
If glass is colored the objects seen throgh it will take in the color of the glass the ticker or more opaque the glass the stronger the change in colours will be
Depending on the angle of the glass to your eye there will be a degree of distortion due to refraction (I coose to exaggerate it a Little in this painting)
closing one eye helps with flattering the glass and blurring your visión helps to simplify further
I did wet in wet (oil color) over acrylic underpainting surface I use glazing technique over such background creating the illusion of light reflections and dark accents.
Cons on this experimental particular work:
I did carefree mostly lyrical to check basically glass área texture appearance
I didn´t mix the paint completely on the palette I did on the canvas so I loose the contrast which is essential
Nevertheless my main interest was to to check final texture by using barniz along thiner paint into the bottles at the painting work , wich worked well .- I´ll try to enhance with additional selective barniz and better brush application in a future particular application but at glance worked well

Setting the tone;
For me the begining is the critical stage of the painting, because the first wash sets the tone for the rest of the work, I start dividing the canvas, into large abstract shapes of unequal visual weight, the undertone sets up the colors and value of the subsequent steps.
The folowwing painting have to show blue distance and mist colors to work with
the dark shapes are the contrast needed to be show in accordance size and shape forms, .- once I start with right tone everything else is easier
(all depends on the scene.- there is no particular formula)

Realism and Stylization with impasto áreas;

This type of painting requires planning, because impasto under painting must be completed before detail can be layered on top of it, and you must be careful when doing the brush painting to transition smoothly into te impasto, without painting over too much on the underpainting. the solution is using fine cumulative layers of transparent or semi-transparent glazes. I generally use wáter as main médium (sometimes tint).- then the juxtaposition of detailed áreas are more suggested stylized, making both approaches more evocative where I need to.
This painting was realized with limited palette
Impasto first approach painting with médium yellow, cerulean blue and payne´s grey
2nd approach with titanium White and payne´s grey
Reference was made from a painting which I copied thru this acrylic metodology

Postal card size painting, a productive way to pass the time in new themes

One of the advantages of painting small, rapid studies .- is that it forces you to capture compositions that you wouldn´t have chosen if you were setting up for a major piece, you´re obligued to work quikly, grasping only the essentials,
that kind of thinking can be applied for more patiently observed scenes
So from time to time I´ve just paint what I like at fist glance, in order to check if I´ll be able to do it with more details if I want to, and/or because If I make a big painting probably woudn´t have the impact I´m looking for so I´d rather do it small for fast results
