Realism and Stylization with impasto áreas;

This type of painting requires planning, because impasto under painting must be completed before detail can be layered on top of it, and you must be careful when doing the brush painting to transition smoothly into te impasto, without painting over too much on the underpainting. the solution is using fine cumulative layers of transparent or semi-transparent glazes. I generally use wáter as main médium (sometimes tint).- then the juxtaposition of detailed áreas are more suggested stylized, making both approaches more evocative where I need to.
This painting was realized with limited palette
Impasto first approach painting with médium yellow, cerulean blue and payne´s grey
2nd approach with titanium White and payne´s grey
Reference was made from a painting which I copied thru this acrylic metodology
